Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 3 vs Fossil Sport Smartwatch
The Fossil Sport smartwatch is an excellent smartwatch but it is truly outgunned by the Ticwatch Pro 3.
Except in value. The Fossil Sport offers fantastic value that just can’t be beaten.
I think the Fossil Sport is a lightweight, capable and comfortable smartwatch that really mimics the feeling of old digital watches.
However, it has one BIG problem which is its poor battery life that struggles to get past a full day.
Its hardware is OK but is susceptible to slowdowns, probably because of its small 512MB RAM. It has the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 processor which is OK.
Whereas with the Ticwatch Pro 3, slowdowns aren’t a problem because it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor and 1GB of RAM. That processor really sets a new benchmark for smartwatches.
On the same note, the Ticwatch Pro 3 has fantastic battery life because of its dual layer screen. It’s great because you’ll always be able to see the time even in bright sunlight because the top layer LCD screen uses ambient light. And if you need full colour, there’s the LED screen below that. It’s one of the Mobvoi’s greatest innovations in the smartwatch sphere.
Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 3 vs Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle
The old Wear OS blinglord is out and in comes a new one.
When the Ticwatch Pro 3 came on the market, I was just so amazed with what it could do. Immediately, that led to the Fossil Gen 5’s dethronement as the best Wear OS smartwatch.
It’s still a good smartwatch, but the Gen 5 just can’t compete with the battery life of the Ticwatch Pro 3. Nor can it compete feature-wise such as in the realm of health metrics measured and performance.
But the Gen 5 series does have one major point of competition: looks. The Gen 5 is beautiful and you can find it in a number of different configurations such as one with a metal band and clasp (as pictured above) or a leather strap and a variety of watch cases.
Fossil has also always paid more attention to design and therefore their watch face designs are generally more attractive, creative and bold.
It’s a real dilemma. Should you go for looks or performance?
Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle
The Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle is a premium smartwatch but that doesn’t mean will completely beat the Ticwatch S2.
Why? Because the Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle demands extra money for the little increments it offers. If you want a watch that will haave all the fancy features including the ability to accept calls, then you can’t go wrong with the Fossil Gen 5. However, if you want a watch that is good as a watch and has some smart features, then you might want to consider the Ticwatch S2.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with either watch, but the Gen 5 is just slightly better (and more future-proof).
Ticwatch C2 vs Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle
I like small watches but the challenge is always that small watches can have much larger compromises than larger watches.
The Ticwatch C2 strikes a good balance between miniaturization and functionality. I love how it has a full day’s worth of battery life, at a good price and it has a shiny silver bezel. It looks good and rightly so, because it’s a smartwatch that’s aimed at urban metrosexuals.
The Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle is a bit of a different game. It’s a bit more professional with its all metal design, and it has better features than the Ticwatch C2. I think it’s great if you want a full featured watch that has hardware that will last longer in terms of futureproofness and feature set.
Ticwatch C2 vs Fossil Sport Smartwatch
To the average consumer, these two watches are about the same. They’re about the same size, they have almost the same specs and they are both Wear OS smartwatches.
The biggest differentiator between the two is that the Fossil Sport Smartwatch has pretty horrible battery life, especially when compared to the similar-sized Ticwatch C2.
But I really like the Fossil Sport because it’s just so light, slim and practical. It’s like a classic digital watch.
The Ticwatch C2 seems like it’s the Fossil Sport that has gone through Pimp My Ride. Although, in this case, they did pimp it up pretty well.
Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Sport Smartwatch
Let’s get one thing clear: the Ticwatch S2 and Fossil Sport Smartwatch are more or less similar in terms of hardware.
There are two major differentiations between the S2 and the Sport.
Firstly, the Fossil Sport is a slender, slim and lightweight smartwatch. The Ticwatch S2 is a chunky smartwatch that is HUGE compared to the Fossil Sport.
Luckily, larger watches always have a better time with battery life and in this case, the Fossil Sport does prove pretty lacklustre in terms of its battery longevity. Whereas the Ticwatch S2 manages well for a person who is expecting to charge every day.
Oh, did I tell you? The Ticwatch S2 boasts military standard credentials for hardiness.
Ticwatch E2 vs Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle
I have always found the Ticwatch E2 to be one of the best smartwatches out there for people looking for an entry-level smartwatch.
It has good battery life, the performance is good enough and I think you’ll be pleased with what you can get for what you pay for.
The Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle is also a pretty good smartwatch but it’s really meant for people who want the premium smartwatch experience. the Fossil Gen 5 has a speaker which means it can take and make calls. It’s also a better performer because of its superior hardware.
Ticwatch E2 vs Fossil Sport Smartwatch
When Mobvoi and Fossil come up with entry level smartwatches, this is what they offer consumers.
Both are very good smartwatches but I think most people will be happier with the Ticwatch E2 if they are focused on battery life and if they prefer the larger size of the Ticwatch E2.
The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is a pretty decent smartwatch too. It’s more petite, lighter and slimmer. It has a better performing smartwatch because it has a faster processor — the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100., but it does deal with slowdowns as does the Ticwatch E2.
It’s a pretty hard choice to decide between the two.
Ticwatch Pro vs. Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle
The good ol’ Ticwatch Pro is a good ol’ watch but… it has honestly lost a lot of its lustre as a result of its successor, the Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS.
To be fair, I am talking about the original Ticwatch Pro, not the upgraded and refreshed ones that Mobvoi has released. This one has 512MB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100.
The Ticwatch Pro brings the greatest innovation in the smartwatch world with its dual screen layout, but its implementation doesn’t really give it a super good battery life.
And since the Ticwatch Pro is playing for a premium position on the smartwatch market, it just can’t beat the Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle.
TicWatch Pro vs Fossil Sport Smartwatch
Both watches have gotten a bit dated.
But the Ticwatch Pro has really gotten dated much faster than the Fossil Sport Smartwatch.
Why? I think that’s because the Ticwatch Pro has set its bar much higher than the Fossil Sport Smartwatch.
The Ticwatch Pro aimed for the premium tier of smartwatches while the Fossil Sport Smartwatch is an entry level watch. And that’s why with the Ticwatch Pro has all the nice things like a speaker for accepting/making calls.
